2025

A decision was made at the 2025 AGM that Club Finals & Men's ESL games be played in Club Shirt & Whites.  All other games to be Club Shirt & Blacks.

The Ladies decided to come out of he East Surrey League & join the Mid Surrey Invitation League. They also joined the Smiths League.

The Gazebo blew into the car park during early 2025.  It was replaced by a wooden strutire (cost £5,000).

On 11/08/25 Epsom hosted the Chrystie Evening Presentation.

2024

Constitution up dated & approved at meeting on Friday  22/03/24

Epsom win the Eric Hingston Cup for the third time.  They won 59 - 54 on 19/03/24.

New shirt (based on a design submitted by member Les Owen) is purchased.

Anne Hoffmann presented with the SCWBA Life Time Achievement award in May 2024.

Epsom join the West Surrey League (1 rink played on a Friday evening).

Graham Pilbrow presented with Honorary Life Membership of Epsom Bowling Club.

Epsom reached the Semi Final of the West Surrey League - they lost to Camberley 'B' 15 - 25.

Epsom win the Chrystie League for the 5th time.

On Saturday 10th August 2024 Epsom Ladies played their 200th match in the ESLL & it also became the 100th win in this league.

2023

Coronation Day celebrated on Monday 8th May 2023 with over 40 playing in Red, White & Blue ( &20 odd spectators) & enjoying an excellent tea afterwards.

Epsom hosted a men's match against the Surrey Past President team (led by Martin Harbottle) on Wednesday 7th June 2023. Epsom lost 98 - 128.

Epsom reach the Bowls England Area Final of the Mixed Fours for the first time in their history. (Ted Ray, Mary Green, Fi Drinkall & David Fearn).  Lost to Southey 18 - 21.

Epsom win the Chrystie League for the fourth time.

Mary Green, Ruth Baker & Trish Southgate win the Davis Banbury Trophy at the Reigate Priory Invitation Day on 9th August 2023.

2022

Epsom win the Eric Hingston Cup.

Martin Harbottle became the Surrey County Bowling Association President.

Epsom played their very first match in the new East Surrey League Mid Week Triples against Cheam on 28/06/22.

Les Owen presented with The Surrey Leopard Award by Martin Harbottle (Surrey President) on the green at Epsom Bowling Club on 23rd August 2022.

2021

Club awarded £10,808 Grant from Epsom & Ewell Council (re COVISD19).

Further £8,000 Start Up Grant given to the Club by Epsom & Ewell Borough Council.

Preparations made for the 2021 season under Government Guidelines re COVID19 undertaken.

Full programme planned.

Roy Ward is granted Honorary Life Membership of Epsom Bowling Club in recognition of all the work he has undertaken for the Club & Surrey County Bowling Association.  Sadly Roy died on Friday 7th May 2021.

Season got underway on 24th April 2021 under COVID restrictions - 24 allowed on green, no spectators.

Eileen Mills awarded Loyal Service award for service to Bowls.

Full programme of games took place, but several games cancelled because of lack of names (other Clubs)

Epsom hosted the Crawford Cup on Thursday 15th July - SCBA v SCIBA (SCIBA won 123 - 106).

History was created by Dave Pearce, David Bragg & Fred Read when they won the Arthur Hughes Triples for the first time.  They beat Chessington in the Final 24 - 11.

November 2021 - Martin Harbottle elected as President of Surrey County Bowling Association becoming the 3rd member of EBC to hold this position.

Sadly Life Member Colin Hunt passed away (aged 97) on 13th December 2021.

Changes made to the Executive Committee in October 2020 - Les Owen becomes Club Secretary - Temporary positions of Membership Secretary (Sandie Harvey) & Assistant Secretary (Pauline Devereux). These to be ratified at an AGM whenever that would be possible. (Covid 19 restrictions).

Work continues on replacing the Men's/Ladies changing rooms Saturday 5th October 2019.

Bill Lawrence & Jo Ellis granted Honorary Social Life Membership of Epsom Bowling in recognition of their loyalty to the Club over many years.

The 2020 season was cancelled because of a World Wide Coronavirus outbreak.  The Executive Committee met on Friday 10th April 2020 via Google Duo which turned out to be very successful.

New front gate erected (height restriction).  It was hit by the green keeper causing quite some damage.

Website updated to include ALL data related to Friendly, Mixed & Indoor matches.  In some cases back to 1984.

The Executive Committee met on Friday 10th July & decided to open the Bar on a Wednesday & Friday between 1pm & 5pm.  This was a trial period of one month.  Several members sign up to play Singles & Pairs under strict guidelines issued by the Government.

Bar opened on Wednesdays & Fridays from 22nd July.  Perspex screen erected by bar & contactless machine bought.

Contacted by Grand Son (Andrew Richmond) of Robert Law who won the Surrey Triples in 1951 - supplied photographs & Trophies.

Three Finals took place - Australian Mixed Pairs, 100-Up Cup & Men's Handicap Singles.  The entries were restricted because of Coronavirus.  Casual play took place arranged through a booking system with Sandie Harvey.

Gill Sperring awarded Loyal Service award for service to Bowls.
