Autumn Triples
 
The Autumn Triples was introduced in August 2014 to replace Miller's Triples.  This Competition was run in a similar way to Miller's Triples. It was organised by Tony Dunn.

Miller's Triples      

Trophy 2010 -13

 

Peter Miller who joined the Club in 1992 introduced 'Miller's Triples' in 2005.  After having a very successful season being undefeated as a Triple with Martin Harbottle & Ted Ray he issued a challenge to fellow members.  This was taken up by four other Triples.  He was also concerned that after Finals Day the Club became more and more deserted.  In order to make full use of the green and facilities he suggested a Triples Competition.  After much discussion it was decided that teams could be all male, all female or mixed and that games be arranged by mutual consent.  Rules were drawn up as follows:-

18 ends, 1 shot to be taken on the first two ends.

In 2009 the number of teams entered was 11.

In 2010 Peter decided to present a new trophy for the Competition in the form of a Shield.  The Competition from a humble beginning of 4 teams in 2005 has now grown to 11 teams competing.  It is now a tradition that a meal is served at the end of the season for all members taking part.
