Mixed Friendly Epsom played Mole Valley in a mixed friendly fixture on Sunday 30th November 2025. They won on 2 rinks, lost on 2 rinks & lost overall 78 - 81. After 9 ends across the 4 rinks Epsom were 32 - 46 down & 22 shots behind (53 - 75) on ends 15. They outscored Mole Valley 25 - 6 over the last 3 ends to lose by just 3 shots. Details: Rink 1 Stefan Tomm Judy Jackson Trish Southgate David Fearn lost 14 - 24 Epsom were 3 - 16 down after 9 ends & 9 - 23 behind on end 15. They lost by 10 shots. Rink 2 Lynn Phillips Nick Rowan Sandie Harvey Les Owen won 20 - 14 Epsom led 4 - 2 after 4 ends & won the next 8 ends to lead 15 - 2. They lost the next 4 ends, but won by 6 shots. Rink 3 Kevin Phillips Mick Cooper Roger Jackson Fi Drinkall won 27 - 21 Epsom were 12 - 15 down after 9 ends, but won the next 4 ends to lead 18 - 15. They won 3 of the last 4 ends to win by 6 shots. Rink 3 Christine Summerfield Barry Jordan John Warren Phil Sims lost 17 - 22 Epsom were 6 - 13 down after 9 ends & 9 - 22 behind on end 14. They won the last 4 ends & lost by 5 shots. Final Score: Epsom 78 Mole Valley 81 Nick Rowan played his first Indoor match in this game for Epsom Bowling Club (He has played in the Spitfire League). Did you know Epsom first played Mole Valley in a mixed friendly match in 1990. In these early years had members who did not play for an indoor club. There have been several wins over the years with the best result in 2014 when Epsom won on all 4 rinks winning 104 - 53. In the equivalent game last season Epsom won 66 - 60. |

Spitfire League Epsom played their third game in the Spitfire League (played at Donyngs IBC) on Wednesday 12th November 2025. They played against Brockham & won on 2 rinks, lost on 1 rink & won overall 57 - 35 (8 - 2). Epsom led 23 - 19 after 8 ends across the 3 rinks & went on to win by 22 shots. Details: Rink 4 Mick Cooper Nick Rowan Christine Summerfield Martin Harbottle lost 11 - 16 Epsom led 8 - 5 after 8 ends, but lost the next 3 ends to go 8 - 12 down. They lost by 5 shots. (15 ends played). Rink 5 Sandy Cooper Sandie Harvey Phil Sims Les Owen won 22 - 10 Epsom were 6 - 9 down after 8 ends, but won the next 6 ends to lead 19 - 9. They won by 12 shots. (16 ends played). Rink 6 Roger Jackson Trish Southgate Fi Drinkall David Fearn won 24 - 9 Epsom led 9 - 5 after 8 ends & 15 - 9 on end 12. They won the last 3 ends played to win by 15 shots. (15 ends played). Final Score: Epsom 57 Brockham 35 Epsom 8 points Brockham 2 points. |

Mixed Friendly Epsom played against Donyngs on Sunday 2nd October2025 (this was a 1 rink & 3 triples match) They won on 2 rinks, lost on 2 rinks & lost overall 63 - 69. After 10 ends across the 4 rinks Epsom led 44 - 28, but were 4 shots down (52 - 56) on ends 15 & they lost by 6 shots. Details: Rink 2 Liz Hind Brian Collis Sandy Cooper Martin Harbottle lost 12 - 28 This rink led 10 - 9 after 10 ends, but lost the next 5 ends to go 10 - 22 down. They lost the last 5 ends & lost by 16 shots. Rink 3 Judy Jackson Kevin Phillips Christine Summerfield won 20 - 13 Epsom led 13 - 3 after 9 ends & 15 - 11 on end 15. They won by 7 shots. Rink 4 Lynn Phillips Sandie Harvey Roger Jackson won 21 - 13 Epsom led 12 - 8 after 9 ends & 18 - 11 on end 15. They won by 8 shots. Rink 5 Stefan Tomm Mick Cooper Fi Drinkall lost 10 - 15 Epsom were 5 - 8 down after 9 ends & 9 - 12 behind on end 15. They lost by 5 shots. Final Score: Epson 63 Donyngs 69 Judy Jackson played in her first friendly indoor match for Epsom Bowling Club. |

They played against Banstead Nevill & won on 2 rinks, lost on 1 rink & won overall 45 - 39 (8 - 2). After 9 ends across the 3 rinks Epsom were 22 - 23 down. However, they went on to win by 6 shots. Details: Rink 1 Stefan Tomm Roger Jackson Sandie Harvey Barry Jordan won 18 - 11 Epsom led 9 - 7 after 9 ends & won by 7 shots. Rink 2 Sandy Cooper Paul Maskell Christine Summerfield Martin Harbottle won 16 - 12 Epsom were 3 - 10 down after 7 ends, but won the next 5 ends to lead 11 - 10. They won the last 2 ends to win by 4 shots. Rink 3 Nick Rowan Mick Cooper Fi Drinkal Dave Fearn lost 11 - 16 Epsom led 8 - 6 after 9 ends & lost by 5 shots. Final Score: Epsom 45 Banstead Neville 39 Epsom 8 points Banstead Neville 2 points Nick Rowan played in his first match in this league & becomes the 60th player from Epsom Bowling Club to play in this tournament. They played against Redhill & lost on all 3 rinks & the match 15 - 63 (0 - 10). Details: Rink 4 Sandie Harvey Trish Southgate Barry Jordan David Fearn lost 8 - 13 Rink 5 Roger Jackson Mick Cooper Christine Summerfield Phil Sims lost 4 - 24 Rink 6 Sandy Cooper Richard Price John Hart Norman Mann lost 3 - 26 Final Score: Epsom 15 Redhill 63 Epsom 0 points Redhill 10 points Roger played his first game in this Competition & becomes the 60th member of Epsom Bowling Club to play in this league. Did you know Epsom first played in this Competition in the 2014/15 season. They reached the final only to lose to Purley Bury. (of our current members Stefan Tomm, John Hart & John Warren played in this game). Since 2014/15 Epsom have played 58 matches, won 24 & lost 34. |

Awards Night The Annual Awards Night took place on Saturday 4th September 2025. This was held at Sutton Bowling Club & was attended by 59 members, friends & family. Everyone enjoyed an excellent meal & was followed by an address from the President, Liz Hind. She outlined how she enjoyed her year especially the Presidents Invitation day which raised £400 for the Club. She took the opportunity to thank many members who helped run competitions & the general help given around the Club. The trophies were then presented to winners & runners up & was followed by a raffle. A very enjoyable evening. |
